VISION: To build up Christians, through core Bible verses, that grow love, faith, and courage, through wisdom, and to help curious people better understand the Bible and how the spiritual and physical interact.
VALUES: Love, faith, courage, and wisdom
BACKGROUND: I was raised in a small town in the Midwest, in a traditional Christian denomination. I later explored other Christian denominations, and even learned about the other major religions. I’ve come to respect the potential of religion, despite the fact that people can make it messy. The truth is, the Holy Triune has helped people improve their lives for centuries, and continue to do so.
I joined the military because it provided a full-time job with full health benefits, with four weeks paid vacation a year, and paid travel, and it felt good to serve my country. I had a good career in the U.S. Army, and left as a Chief Warrant Officer in Special Forces, specializing in planning. I gave the best years of my physical life serving our country.
After the military I started my own business. I soon realized I could use some knowledge about business. So I dissolved it and got a business degree. Then I started having big challenges with my health, relationships, and finances. I became passionate about learning. I realized that the Bible is our life manual, and I found it important to read it regularly.
As I read and studied the Bible, I turned my notes into the Scripture Foundation Guide to help me memorize Scripture. This grew and became the Core Bible Verses book, to help people memorize important Bible verses, get inspired to read the Bible, and to better understand how the spiritual world and the physical world affect each other. I had some significant challenges that tested my faith, and thanks to my Bible studies, strengthened it.
I learned that my past military experience helped me to understand the spiritual war we are in (Eph 6:10-20), and how it can influence our desires (Gal 5:16-26). Most importantly, this spiritual war, is set in a larger love story. God so loved the world that He sent His only Son, and whoever believes in Him will have eternal life (Jn 3:16). Nothing can separate us from the love of God through Christ Jesus, our Lord (Ro 8:38-39). Through one man’s disobedience many were made sinners. Through one man’s obedience many are made righteous (Ro 5:19).
Unfortunately, the theory of spiritual warfare can be misunderstood, and misused. I could be wrong, but it seems that there may be situations where people might simply be suffering from nutrient imbalances of the body, chemical imbalances of the brain, or even simple bad habits of emotions and thoughts. After all, it is my understanding that the food we eat, and the emotions and thoughts we regularly embrace, can both effect our neurobiology, and chemicals in the brain, which can also affect our body.
It is sad to consider how many Christians and Christian denominations seem to work against each other and talk bad about each other. I believe the Nicene Creed is the best guide for foundational Christian doctrine, and anything not addressed by it, should not be a point of open disagreement. There are enough troubles in the world, we don’t need Christians working against Christians, or churches against churches.
This website and book are the result of more than a decade of studying the Bible. While it may be a shortcut to important Bible verses, there is no shortcut for doing the necessary work for your personal and spiritual growth. I’ve found reading the Bible regularly is helpful. God wants to have a personal relationship with you, He cares about you, and wants to help you.
Most Christians want to strengthen their faith and understanding of the Bible but feel like they don’t have time to read it. Reading the Core Bible Verses can help, and getting a study Bible and committing to just reading two chapters a day, will transform your life.

Many pages on this website are in my book, The Core Bible Verses, like the 12 Core Bible Verses, Four Core Virtues, 10 Core Beliefs (Nicene Creed), Christian Wisdom Guide, Scripture Foundation Guide, the Daily Prayer, highlights of the Life of Jesus according to the book of Matthew, and Encouraging Bible Verses.
There are also many pages in the book that are not on this website, like a brief summary of Christianity and the Bible, Bible credibility, Four Core Skills, Meaning Building, and Faith Building.
The Core Bible Verses website and book has taken over 10 years of work. It is the result of reading the Bible many times. It has helped me speak life into many people’s lives.
